Our SLC MISSION and OUR FAMILY

Since we are so BLESSED to be closer to Family For this 2nd Mission— periodically I will Post some things that we get to be a “part of” because we live “closer to home and family”. So here’s a RECAP of the first 4 months of “being in the Field”.
This is a very interesting question in lieu of the changes that have been made to our meeting schedules since Jan 1, 2019.
HOW WOULD YOU ANSWER THAT?
HOW IS YOUR “COME FOLLOW ME”TEACHING AND LEARNING HELPING YOU AND YOURS??
these Elders did their homework and WON the
Church History Feud Competition! Way to go, Elders!!
We were there to "Cheer on" the participants

Some people went to a lot of work to make this COMPETITION as authentic as the real FAMILY FEUD game it is patterned after--even out interviewing people for the answers to the questions

Look who came and found us at the Church History Library!
Thanks Mel and Skyler and Kirea
We LOVE Visitors!

Brad alerted us to this Veteran's Day Concert and it was SO--O GOOD!!

The Tabernacle was full the night of the Concert
Schools from the area High Schools were the Program and they were so prepared

The Church History Museum has had any ongoing exhibit for the last 4+ months featuring Pres Henry B Eyring's "watercolor paintings" that he has done to express and record his messages of love to his Family members. He has developed this talent at the encouragement of an Art Teacher at then Rick"s College while Pres Eyring was serving as President of that College. He must hve been a "quick study" as his works evoke what he was trying to convey--"to remember his thoughts and
feelings for these precious moments of our lives that will bring great comfort when Life's situations change and we can't bring them back"  I LOVED IT! The exhibit was called " A Visual Journey".

In November 2018 Elder Ron and Sister Carol Mumford were asked if they could attend and give support where needed to the Capitol Hill YSA Ward

This beautiful building with its rock walls and stained glass windows is directly across the street to the west of the State Capitol. It's an experience for sure!!

Elder and Sister Mumford and Missy Mumford on their way to. . .
Andrea Bocelli Concert at the Vivant Center (aka Jazz arena)

Proof we were there--at the Concert

The absolute beauty of Temple Square at Christmas time

Christmas Choir Devotional

Went to a special presentation about the art of Dan Wilson and loved this painting of the Savior he had on display

Some special new friends we have made in our service at the Church History Library.
L to R: Elder Ron Mumford, Sister Carol Mumford, Sister Kitty Tenney and Elder Harold Tenney
The Tenney’s are from Prescott, Arizona and  (small world is here) Harold is the brother to Sister Jeanne Brown, who we served with in New York Manhattan Temple AND who found out she had Stage 4 Leukemia in a visit ti Instacare Last Spring and was rushed home to Arizona to begin “the fight for her life” which she is winning so far after almost a year of treatment. We love you, Jeanine and Spencer and your example of strength and hard work. So happy we have met The Tenneys!

Just a beautiful view of the Salt Lake Temple
